My background is Biochemsitry and I have been working for 30 years on developing light active compounds for clinical and agricultural applications. The basis of the coumpounds are natural occuring plant constituents (such as Hypericin, Curcumin), and derivatives thereof to obtain water soluble and degradable pesticides. Modern agriculture is highly dependent on chemical pesticides. This causes resistance, environmental contamination, regulatory bans (eg. Streptomycin for the treatment of erwinia amylovora) and, increasing farmer costs. There is currently no resistance-proof, high-efficacy, biodegradable solution for major fungal and bacterial crop diseases.
