The current focus of my research is understanding the epidemiology and pathology of soft rot bacteria, particularly in seed potato. I am investigating whether blackleg disease changes the plant microbiome and if competitive species could be sourced and applied to reduce disease. I am also involved in investigating the biological responses of bacterial to novel natural biological products, such as bacteriophage. I am o to collaborate to test bacterial responses to novel compounds or collect efficacy data in glasshouse/field tests.
