Dr. David Bianchi is a research scientist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry at UIUC, doing research in computational science, biophysical simulations, metabolic engineering and synthetic biology. His work focuses on development of computational science platforms, analyses and research with applications ranging from chemistry to genomics, agriculture, health sciences, energy, synthetic biology, bioengineering, and applications of machine learning to these areas. His research spans systems biology, computational chemistry, integrating genomics, molecular structure, datasets, and whole-cell modeling to study biological complexity, cellular organization, and emergent behavior.
