I believe that hard work done with integrity and creative problem-solving are the foundational to tackling today's human health challenges. Mentored by University of Chicago Professors Chuan He and Marc Bissonnette, I enthusiastically engage in cancer research with an emphasis on using He lab epigenetic technologies to profile cell-free DNA. I also engage in collaborations studying nuclear receptor modulating compounds as potential therapies in hormone-driven cancers.
My previous research interests encompass the fields of cancer biology and chemistry (chemical biology and organic chemistry). Research as a former faculty member at a small liberal arts university included a foray into NAD+ metabolism (via SIRT1 and NNMT) for studying Alzheimer's disease. My doctoral and postdoctoral research background focused on developing anticancer drugs and prognostic signatures to stratify patients for personalized treatment.
