Currently holding a Research Assistant Professor position at the University of Illinois at Chicago, I am involved in several projects that cover from genomic editing to protein X-ray crystallography, from in vitro protein characterization to in vivo testing of drug delivery/dosing/toxicity in both cell culture and animals. I am also co-founder/ Chief Scientific Officer/ Principal Investigator of Enzyme by Design Inc. focusing on development and commercialization of safer biologics drugs for select types of blood cancer with expanded use in select tumors. Equipped with two federal small business grants (Phase I, 0.65 M $ total), I am excited to lead those projects and transition them to Phase II when enabling toxicology data will be generated for future Investigational New Drugs.
