My research focuses on combatting antimicrobial resistance and advancing infection prevention research. My team conducts clinical and translational research focused on understanding human and environmental reservoirs for antimicrobial resistant organisms and developing novel, pragmatic techniques to improve the detection, prevention, and treatment of antimicrobial resistance. We also conduct research focused on respiratory virus transmission, healthcare-associated infection prevention, and occupational health and safety for healthcare professionals, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
