Fundamental research of interest in Li-ion, Mg and aqueous batteries, CO2 conversion, liquid hydrogen carriers and manufacturing of metals. We have extensive experience with setups to track electrochemical and solid-state reactions in real time using synchrotron X-rays.
About
We develop the fundamental chemistry needed for next-generation batteries and other electrochemical technologies, designing complex materials that store and transport ions more effectively. Our group combines solid-state synthesis, nanoscience, synchrotron X-ray imaging, and machine learning to reveal how reactions unfold from individual atoms to complete electrode particles. By translating these insights into new materials for lithium and multivalent-ion storage, electrosynthesis, and small-molecule conversion, our research connects fundamental discovery with major challenges in sustainable energy.
