My research program at UF/IFAS Tropical Research & Education Center focuses on improving tropical and subtropical fruit cultivars for Florida and beyond. We use conventional and modern breeding, quantitative and molecular genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics to identify key traits and enhance production, quality, nutrient use efficiency, and stress tolerance in fruit crops. The team also develops new tools to accelerate breeding and providing research-based knowledge with growers, industry, and extension agents.
