Targeted mutation of starch branching enzyme IIb in rice
About
Rice is the staple food for more than half of the world’s population. Starch branching enzyme IIb is the key endosperm specific enzyme in amylopectin biosynthesis pathway. Down-regulation of this enzyme in several crops has led to high amylose, high resistant starch and low glycemic starch.
