I am a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northwestern University and lead the Metamaterials and Nanophotonic Devices Laboratory. My research focuses on optical metasurfaces, metamaterials, computational and AI-driven photonic design, tunable optical materials, nanoscale light–matter interactions, and quantum photonics. I work at the intersection of materials, device engineering, fabrication, and optical characterization. I am interested in helping industry partners to develop compact and high-performance solutions for sensing, imaging, light emission, beam control, and emerging quantum technologies, with an emphasis on translating fundamental photonic concepts into manufacturable devices and systems.
