Consulting work and research collaborations. As a professor I find it valuable to collaborate on projects with industry partners both to help them address engineering challenges, and also as a way to help me to stay connected to modern engineering practice.
About
My training is in the general area of energy, a sub-discipline of mechanical engineering. I have experience in the areas of renewable energy, renewable fuels and hydrogen, heat transfer and thermal design, applied thermodynamics, numerical simulation including FEA and CFD, chemical reactor design, nuclear fusion, engineering education, and digital design and prototyping. I am a professor at Bucknell University in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and have collaborated frequently with industrial partners to assist in R&D and product development efforts. I have experience with many modern software tools including CAD and simulation packages, as well as with applications of generative AI in engineering.
