Besides flowering, we have also been working on responses to shade and temperature, which affect not only flowering time, but also yield and lodging. These are relevant plant responses in agricultural fields. We contributed to the field by advancing our understanding of the roles of individual photoreceptors in responses to shade and temperature. With respect to approaches, we relied heavily in genetic approaches, performing mutagenesis, screening for phenotypes, mapping and positional cloning, addressing gene function, gene interaction, and inferring position in pathways from genetic data.
