About
I am a physicist and a biophysicist and Associate Professor at Northwestern University with 20 years of experience in protein engineering, de novo protein design, GPCRs, biosensors, and quantitative imaging. My research combines biophysics, biochemistry, cell biology, and computational approaches to understand and engineer complex biological systems. I help industry solve problems at the earliest stages of discovery: designing proteins that bind difficult targets, building sensors that reveal how a molecule engages its target and what it does once bound, and turning that mechanistic insight into better lead selection. I partner with companies through sponsored research, co-development, licensing, and advisory roles to move platforms toward real therapeutic and diagnostic programs.
