Tracking mobile genes in host plant-parasitic plant interaction
About
Dr. Park has studied how plants communicate using model plants (host) and parasitic plants (Cuscuta or Phelipanche). Between host and parasitic plants, mobile genes are exchanged through a unique structure called haustoria. Her main research question is what is the function of mobile genes.
