Size- and shape-controlled nanoparticle (NP) synthesis, transformations and surface modification of NPs; plasmonic nanomaterials, sensing, environmental remediation with NPs and colloidal systems; synthesis of size-uniform colloidal particles, e.g. latex, silica and metal oxides
About
With more than 30 years of experience my research background spans a wide range from liquid crystals and polymers to surface modification and nanoscale confinement and currently to size- and shape-uniform nanoparticles and colloidal systems.
At Laurier, the emphasis of my lab research was always to create well-defined nanoparticles and colloidal systems that can be used for practical applications. Currently, the focus of applied research directions is on plasmonic metal nanoparticles for sensing and colloidal systems for environmental remediation.
