Symrise is seeking contract research organizations, veterinary clinics, and academic partners with capabilities to conduct clinical evaluations of palatability and health/functional benefits of nutritional ingredients containing actives in pets to support product development and regulatory substantiation.

Background

Symrise is a global leader in flavor, nutrition, and care, offering specialized solutions for the pet food industry, including palatants, functional ingredients, and nutritional enhancers. Our innovations are driven by consumer demand for high-quality, health-supporting, and enjoyable pet products. As this sector becomes increasingly competitive and scientifically advanced, clinical evaluation in the target species is critical to substantiating product claims and optimizing formulation performance.

To support internal R&D and product validation, we are expanding our network of organizations with the ability to perform controlled clinical studies in pets. These evaluations will help us understand behavioral responses, palatability, digestibility, and physiological or functional impacts of new ingredients under development. Assessments may include both short-term trials (e.g., two-bowl feeding studies) and longer-term studies evaluating markers of health (e.g., gut health, immune health, metabolism health, joint function, cognitive function, skin/coat quality, and oral health).

Our goal is to identify flexible, high-quality partners that can support a range of study types, from early concept screening to claim-substantiating veterinary trials, while ensuring ethical standards, regulatory compliance, and animal welfare.

What we're looking for

We are looking for organizations with a proven track record in conducting clinical studies in pets. Ideal partners will be able to provide comprehensive study design and protocol, execution, data reporting and biostatistics services across various health domains. Relevant capabilities may include palatability and preference testing (e.g., single-bowl or two-bowl studies), assessments of feeding behavior, satiety, and nutrient intake, digestibility and absorption trials, and the measurement of biomarkers or clinical endpoints related to functional outcomes. We welcome proposals from contract research organizations, university-affiliated veterinary schools, and private veterinary research networks, particularly those experienced in evaluating nutritional ingredients for the functional areas below.

Dear Daniel, Please apologize for my delay of answer. You are right, I'm identifying partners who can manage clinical trials in Pet.
