Fusarium is a large genus of filamentous fungi, part of a group often referred to as hyphomycetes, widely distributed in soil and associated with plants. Fusarium diseases are significant hindrances to food plant production and are very difficult to control, especially soil borne diseases caused by F. oxysporum.
Rice and wheat are the important cereal crops in Asian-Pacific region. However, wheat Fusarium head blight (FHB) and rice bakanae disease (caused by Fusarium) result in product reduction every year. A general epidemic year of FHB can cause 10%-20% yield loss, and in pandemic years, it can lead to no yielding. Similarly, rice bakanae disease also causes 10%-40% product reduction.
We are looking for active ingredients to combat Fusarium in order to save crops from fusarium diseases.
We are looking for an active ingredient that is effective against Fusarium, safe for crops (such as rice, wheat, and corn), and can be transmitted in plants.
