There is tremendous interest in the conversion of carbon dioxide to other molecules given concerns over greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, and related issues. There are innumerable studies of reacting carbon dioxide with hydrogen directly or attempting to convert carbon dioxide electrochemically. These two spaces are not being considered here. This request for proposal (RFP) is soliciting proposals that will address the problem of converting carbon dioxide to higher-value products through routes that do not involve direct reaction with hydrogen or electrochemical methods.

We are looking for multi-organizational teams to generate and demonstrate a proof of concept for using carbon dioxide as a feedstock to make higher-value molecules. We are targeting projects that could commence at the TRL 2 or TRL 3 level and get to TRL 4 in 12 months.
