Patent-pending AC mold treatment, tool-free pad-in-filter system

Mold-Out AC is a patent-pending, single-use consumer kit that treats mold and biofilm inside window and through-wall AC units without disassembly, a problem affecting an estimated 90 million units in US homes with no dedicated retail solution currently on the market. A pre-saturated absorbent pad is placed in the unit's existing filter retention compartment. The unit's own fan, run in fan-only mode, distributes an EPA-registered, plant-based antimicrobial as a vapor mist through the internal airflow pathway, reaching evaporator coils, drain pan, and blower surfaces. No tools, no disassembly, no professional service required. Efficacy was tested on through-wall AC units running in parallel: our treatment against a leading competitor's manual spray application. Mold colony counts were measured via PDA agar culture plates before and after treatment. Our system showed a 98% reduction in colony counts, outperforming the competitor's 94% reduction, while requiring no grille removal to apply. Non-provisional patent application filed June 12, 2026 (US Application No. 19/706,576). We're seeking a licensing partner to bring this to market, ideally a company with existing EPA-registered antimicrobial product lines and retail distribution in the cleaning or home care category.
