DermAmaize® offers an innovative approach to the controlled release of volatile aromatic compounds in topical applications. This platform leverages zein, a biodegradable plant protein, to create a matrix that slows the evaporation of fragrance oils and volatile actives, ensuring longer-lasting scent intensity and stability. Primarily aimed at cough/cold formulations, analgesics, and cosmetics, DermAmaize® enhances the sensory experience by maintaining the intended scent profile and improving formulation stability at fragrance loadings above 10%.

Technology readiness level

Currently, DermAmaize® is at a Technology Readiness Level 4. Further phases will involve comparative evaluations against benchmark products, accelerated stability testing, and optimization to advance towards customer validation and scale-up.
