An AI model using reinforcement learning optimizes PET container design by learning from historical preform design data to improve efficiency, material usage, and quality. The approach integrates with CAD software for real-time design visualization and manipulation, supporting faster iteration and reduced development effort while minimizing material waste.

Overview

This AI-driven solution uses reinforcement learning to optimize PET container design, leveraging historical preform design data. By automating parts of the design process, it aims to improve efficiency, reduce material usage, and enhance overall product quality. The system integrates with existing CAD software to enable real-time visualization and manipulation of designs, supporting iterative refinement.

Technical specifications

The AI model is built using reinforcement learning techniques, including neural networks and algorithms such as DQN and DDPG. It operates within a defined RL framework with a state representation, action space, and reward function. The system is trained and validated using historical data and baseline comparisons, with continuous improvement through online training and evaluation. Integration with CAD systems is facilitated via APIs that allow real-time design visualization and manipulation in URDF, supporting adaptation to new design attributes.

Technology readiness level

This technology currently stands at a TRL 3, indicating early-stage development. The AI model has been conceptually validated, and future validation will focus on comprehensive offline and online training as well as integration with CAD systems for real-world application.
