Behaviour-Based Nutrition: Project FibreUP

Project FibreUP is a behaviour-based nutrition platform designed to increase dietary fibre consumption by embedding it into a consumer behaviour that already occurs at nearly every meal: seasoning food.

Despite widespread awareness of the health benefits of fibre, daily intake remains below recommended levels for much of the population. Existing fibre products typically require consumers to remember an additional step before or between meals. Project FibreUP explores an alternative approach by integrating fibre into the eating experience itself through a tabletop seasoning format that can be sprinkled directly onto foods such as pasta, rice, potatoes, vegetables, soups, and salads.

The innovation is centred on consumer behaviour rather than a novel ingredient. The hypothesis is that leveraging an existing habit may improve long-term adherence more effectively than asking consumers to adopt a new one.

To explore this concept, I have developed a branded product platform, multiple packaging and flavour concepts, behavioural prototypes, and a visual commercialization strategy. I have also conducted early household behavioural observations and personal self-experimentation using continuous glucose monitoring to observe meal responses. These observations are exploratory only and are not intended as clinical evidence.

I am seeking a partner with expertise in consumer health, nutrition, food science, product development, manufacturing, and commercialization to evaluate the concept through formulation, consumer research, regulatory assessment, and market validation. I believe the platform could complement existing fibre brands by expanding how and when consumers choose to consume fibre, rather than replacing current products.

About Project FibreUP

Dynamic Disc Designs Corp. is a Canadian-based company that specializes in creating anatomically accurate, dynamic spine models designed to improve patient education and clinical outcomes. Founded in 2006 by chiropractor Dr. Jerome Fryer, the company develops specialized models that bridge the gap between complex biomechanics and patient understanding by demonstrating how spinal discs behave under various loads, postures, and degenerative conditions. Unlike traditional static tools, these models utilize high-quality, durable materials and elastomeric components to mimic the movement and realism of human anatomy, providing a tactile, visual representation of pain generators and mechanical pathology.

These models serve as vital resources for physicians, surgeons, chiropractors, and medical educators worldwide, helping them communicate spinal conditions such as disc degeneration and stenosis more effectively to their patients. By enabling clinicians to vividly illustrate the mechanics of pain, the models foster better patient engagement, self-awareness, and clarity regarding treatment goals. The company maintains a commitment to quality by handcrafting its products in small batches using raw materials sourced from the United States and manufacturing in Canada, ensuring that each design remains aligned with the latest clinical research and anatomical accuracy.
