A biomimetic core-shell nanocarrier system uses polydopamine and lignin to enhance UV resistance and stability of pesticide delivery in sunlight-exposed environments. This innovative approach combines UV protection and biodegradability for improved agrochemical performance.
The biomimetic core-shell nanocarrier system offers an innovative solution for enhancing the UV resistance and stability of pesticide delivery in agrochemical applications. Inspired by natural UV-protection mechanisms found in insect cuticles, this system employs a core of pesticide-loaded nanoparticles surrounded by a hybrid shell of polydopamine (PDA) and lignin. PDA provides effective UV shielding, while lignin contributes to structural stability and biodegradability, creating a sustainable approach to agrochemical delivery in environments exposed to sunlight.
Key features:
This technology is at TRL 3, indicating that it has been demonstrated in a laboratory setting. Future validation includes testing pesticide-loaded nanoparticles for morphology, stability, and photostability, as well as insecticidal efficacy under controlled conditions.
