CIPSense helps fluid manufacturers stop wasting time and resources on cleaning. It is a sensor-based control package that shows when a Clean-in-Place (CIP) cycle is complete, so you no longer run fixed-timer recipes with large safety margins built in.
The problem it solves: cleaning is unavoidable, but every minute spent cleaning is a minute not producing. Because the standard sensors used today cannot reliably tell when a system is clean, plants over-clean by default. That burns extra water, energy, chemicals and production time on every single cycle, and it still does not guarantee the process was clean throughout.
What you get: CIPSense measures the fluid in real time and signals the point at which cleaning is done. In field trials it has cut rinse durations by more than 50%, saving around 20 minutes on every CIP cycle. For a capacity-constrained line, that time converts directly into more production, lower utility and chemical bills, and progress against sustainability targets. Because the reading stays reliable even in the aerated, real-world conditions that fool conventional sensors, the clean signal is one you can act on with confidence, which matters where cleaning has to be validated and defensible.
Proven at scale: in food and beverage, the technology is deployed within Ecolab CIP IQ, and Ecolab (NYSE:ECL) holds an exclusive licence for it in that industry. That licence covers food and beverage only, so the same proven technology is available directly to every other CIP-reliant sector, including pharmaceutical and biotech, specialty chemicals, and personal care. The sensor is built for hygienic, regulated environments, with EHEDG certification and FDA-approved wetted materials.
Low-risk to try: most customers start with a "Diagnose" phase, where CIPSense monitors your existing cycles without changing anything and builds an ROI case from your own data. Only once the savings are proven on your equipment does it move to live control.
We are looking for pilot sites and partners who want to bring these savings to CIP processes beyond food and beverage.
