The proposed solution focuses on the development of an innovative plant-based, clean-label product designed to support evening relaxation and sleep readiness through a food-based approach. Modern lifestyles, prolonged exposure to digital devices, and increasing levels of stress have contributed to widespread sleep disturbances and difficulties in maintaining healthy circadian rhythms. Existing solutions are largely dominated by pharmaceutical sedatives or dietary supplements, which may cause undesirable effects such as next-day drowsiness, tolerance development, or disruption of the body’s natural sleep regulation when used improperly. At the same time, the functional food and beverage market remains heavily oriented toward stimulation and energy enhancement, while convenient products designed to support relaxation and sleep are still relatively limited. The proposed concept introduces a new category of functional product intended for evening consumption. The formulation relies on a carefully designed combination of plant-derived bioactive compounds, amino acids, and micronutrients that may contribute to physiological relaxation and support the body’s natural transition into sleep. Rather than inducing sedation, the product aims to promote a gradual shift toward calmness and sleep readiness by supporting biological processes associated with circadian balance and nighttime recovery. From a technological perspective, the solution relies on widely available food-grade ingredients and production processes compatible with existing food manufacturing infrastructure, enabling scalable production and rapid implementation. The concept also allows the potential valorization of plant-based by-products from the food industry as alternative sources of bioactive compounds, supporting circular economy principles and more sustainable raw material use.
