Executive Summary

ELPC™ (Eco-Energy Bio-Modulation) is a proprietary non-contact physical signaling technology developed by NEWKIS PTY LTD for commercial agricultural applications. In rice production, ELPC™ provides a non-chemical approach to managing Brown Planthopper (BPH, Nilaparvata lugens) pressure without direct contact with plants and without adding synthetic insecticides to the crop.

Field Evidence

ELPC™ has been applied in real-world rice-growing environments, where field observations have demonstrated a strong reduction in BPH pressure. In the latest field application, the treated area achieved a 100% reduction in BPH under the tested conditions. The result was observed under practical agricultural conditions rather than being limited to a laboratory or controlled-environment experiment.

These results indicate that ELPC™ has practical potential as an agricultural pest-management technology and support its further deployment in commercial rice production. NEWKIS is continuing to collect field evidence across different agricultural environments to establish application protocols and identify the conditions under which the technology performs most effectively.

Technology and Application

ELPC™ is designed as a non-contact physical signaling platform and can be integrated into existing agricultural production practices. The approach does not require direct application of synthetic insecticides to the crop and is intended to complement existing crop-management and integrated pest-management strategies.

The technology is suitable for evaluation at field scale and can be adapted for different rice production systems. Its non-contact operating principle also creates potential for application across larger cultivation areas without requiring conventional chemical treatment of individual plants.

Commercial Opportunity

NEWKIS considers rice and BPH management an important commercial application of the ELPC™ platform. The technology is available for commercial deployment and NEWKIS is seeking agricultural companies, technology distributors, growers, and strategic partners interested in pilot deployment, scale-up, licensing and market development.

Research Opportunity

At the same time, NEWKIS welcomes independent research collaborations with universities, agricultural research institutes and laboratories interested in investigating the underlying biophysical mechanisms associated with the observed effects. Potential research areas include plant–insect interactions, pest behavior, plant stress responses, crop physiology and environmental factors affecting treatment performance.

The objective of such research is not to establish whether the technology can be commercially used, but to better understand its mechanisms, improve scientific characterization, optimize application protocols and expand its use across rice varieties and other crop–pest systems.

Partnership Opportunities

NEWKIS is open to co-development, sponsored research, pilot or trial engagements, and technology licensing. Partners may participate in commercial deployment, independent validation, mechanism studies, field-scale trials or expansion into additional agricultural markets.
