MODIAQ offers a robust solution for detecting, identifying, and quantifying mycotoxins in complex matrices using LC-MS/MS. This method overcomes challenges like structural diversity and matrix complexity, providing high specificity and reliable data for the food industry.

Overview

MODIAQ is a cutting-edge analytical solution designed to address the challenges of mycotoxin detection in complex matrices. Utilizing high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), MODIAQ provides a robust and efficient method for the simultaneous analysis of mycotoxins. This innovative approach is crucial for the food and feed industries, where protecting human health from toxic fungal metabolites is paramount.

Technical specifications

MODIAQ employs LC-MS/MS to achieve high specificity and sensitivity in detecting trace mycotoxin levels. The method leverages the powerful separation capabilities of liquid chromatography and the precise detection of mass spectrometry, based on the mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) of compounds. Key features include:

  • High-throughput analysis via multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode
  • Capability to detect, identify, and quantify multiple mycotoxins simultaneously
  • Optimization of HPLC parameters (e.g., gradient elution, column temperature)
  • MS/MS parameters fine-tuning for enhanced accuracy
  • Validation of analytical parameters such as linearity, sensitivity, and precision
Technology readiness level

Currently, the technology is at TRL 4, with ongoing method development and validation processes. Future validation includes optimizing the method using reference standards, validating analytical parameters, and analyzing grain extracts to ensure comprehensive detection and quantification of mycotoxins.
