Overview

This solution offers a complete point-of-care detection system for DNA and RNA targets, integrating rapid dip-stick nucleic acid extraction with multiplex Locked Nucleic Acid (LNA) fluorescence probes and an automated fluorescence detection reader. The system addresses a key limitation of conventional laboratory-based qPCR workflows by eliminating the need to transport samples to centralized labs, enabling on-site analysis in under 30 minutes. By combining lyophilized reaction tubes, machine-learning-assisted result interpretation, and a user-friendly interface, the toolkit is designed for use by non-specialist personnel in field, greenhouse, warehouse, or clinical environments.

Technology readiness level

The core technologies have been individually validated. The dip-stick extraction method has been demonstrated under laboratory, greenhouse, and field conditions, with proven reproducibility and sub-two-minute processing times. Multiplex LNA probe protocols have been optimized to handle 32 samples per run. Current and planned validation activities include optimization of extraction protocols for target crops, design and evaluation of multiplex probes for SNPs and long insertions, development of the automated reader and user interface, and progressive evaluation through in vitro, greenhouse, and field/warehouse assays. The system is at an advanced integration stage, moving from validated individual components toward a fully assembled, field-ready toolkit.
