I am a pharmacist (MSc, PhD) and owner of a community pharmacy in Athens, Greece. Over the last 20 years, I have developed plant-derived topical formulations for infectious and inflammatory skin disorders. The platform includes indication-specific formulations based on combinations of plant-derived bioactive compounds with complementary antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. These formulations have been used in real-world pharmacy practice for more than a decade (10–20 years), generating extensive clinical experience. Main applications include: • Onychomycosis, acute paronychia and skin infections: a patented plant-derived topical liquid formulation with favorable clinical outcomes and good tolerability. Clinical and microbiological observations have demonstrated activity against dermatophytes, yeasts, non-dermatophyte molds and bacteria. The product is CPNP-notified and currently used in pharmacy practice. • Psoriasis, hand eczema and seborrheic dermatitis: plant-derived topical cream formulations developed for chronic inflammatory dermatoses. Real-world application has demonstrated disease control, prolonged tolerability and usefulness in relapse management. Selected products are CPNP-notified and commercially available through community pharmacies. Scientific and clinical background: • 10–20 years of real-world clinical application • Case series presented at national and international scientific conferences in collaboration with a dermatologist • High patient acceptance and prolonged tolerability • Multi-component therapeutic approach addressing complex skin pathophysiology Additional formulations and applications within the platform are currently being explored. I am seeking scientific collaboration, co-development, licensing and commercial partnership opportunities.
Dr. Panagiotis Kallimanis Community Pharmacy is an Athens-based pharmacy founded in 1995 that integrates traditional pharmacy practice with academic research in pharmacognosy and natural product chemistry. The pharmacy focuses on developing original therapeutic and cosmetic formulas, emphasizing the use of natural, multifactorial ingredients to support health and treat various conditions. Their approach combines clinical pharmacy expertise with ongoing research, often collaborating with academic scientists and medical doctors to produce evidence-based natural health solutions.
Beyond traditional dispensing, the pharmacy offers personalized cosmetic and therapeutic preparations tailored to individual client needs. The practice operates under a philosophy that values nature's therapeutic potential when applied with rigorous scientific methodology, correct dosage, and observation. By engaging in research and publishing in scientific journals, the pharmacy seeks to bridge the gap between traditional community care and advancements in pharmaceutical science, aiming to provide non-toxic, effective solutions for both local health needs and broader dermatological or systematic wellness challenges.
