University

A novel approach using PROTAC technology to develop small molecules or peptides that penetrate the tumor microenvironment and selectively target pancreatic cancer cells, aiming to degrade oncogenic proteins and improve therapeutic outcomes.

Overview

This innovative solution leverages Proteolysis Targeting Chimeras (PROTACs) to create small molecules or peptides specifically designed to penetrate the tumor microenvironment (TME) and selectively internalize into pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cells. By targeting and degrading oncogenic proteins, these agents hold the potential to enhance the efficacy of pancreatic cancer treatments, addressing a significant unmet need in oncology.

Technical specifications
  • PROTAC Technology: Utilizes the body's protein degradation machinery for precise targeting and degradation of specific proteins.
  • Molecular Design: Focuses on small molecules or peptides with enhanced TME penetration and selective cellular uptake in PDAC cells.
  • Characterization Techniques: Includes melting point determination, TLC, IR, NMR, and mass spectrometry for structural and purity confirmation.
  • Validation Methods: In vitro studies assess efficacy on PDAC cell lines, focusing on cellular uptake and impacts on viability, proliferation, and apoptosis.
Technology readiness level

The development is at Technology Readiness Level 4, indicating that the basic technological components have been integrated and tested in a laboratory environment.
