Institut Pasteur de Montevideo

Institut Pasteur de Montevideo is a specialized biomedical research foundation with roughly 200 scientists and an international outlook, designed to connect biology with health and biotechnology value. Its purpose-built site shares a campus with the University of the Republic’s Faculty of Sciences, supporting close collaboration, training, and access to advanced infrastructure. Shared technological platforms and laboratories serve researchers inside and outside the institute and national and regional productive sectors. An innovation and technology-transfer function, innovation space, and BIOESPINN incubator support commercialization and startup formation. Funding includes institutional support and external awards from Uruguay’s ANII and INIA, MERCOSUR’s FOCEM, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Pasteur Network.
