National Institute of Technology, Calicut

NIT Calicut is a publicly funded, residential institute of national importance in Kerala, with roughly 6,500 students and a broad technical research mission. Its Office of Research and Consultancy coordinates sponsored research, industrial consultancy, patent support, and access to campus laboratories. The Centre for Industry–Institutional Relations channels joint research, industrial projects, expert engagement, training, and industry-sponsored R&D facilities. A Technology Business Incubator supports workspace, mentoring, networking, and startup formation. Research is supported by Indian agencies including DST/ANRF, CSIR, DRDO, ISRO, DBT, MeitY, and the Ministry of Education; a patent cell and NRDC partnership strengthen commercialization.
