Universidade Federal de Pelotas

Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel) is a comprehensive federal public research university headquartered in Pelotas and serving southern Brazil. The university connects with industry through Conectar, its incubator that gives startups access to UFPel laboratories and partners, and through active participation in the Pelotas Technology Park, a regional hub for startups and collaborative R&D. Integration with the Hospital Escola (HE‑UFPel), part of the national EBSERH network, enables clinical research and translational partnerships. Research is supported by competitive federal and state agencies such as CNPq, CAPES, FINEP, and FAPERGS. INOVA, UFPel’s innovation and technology transfer office, manages IP, licensing, and university–industry agreements.
