The Space Dynamics Laboratory, a nonprofit owned by USU with over 1,300 employees at offices nationwide, gives the university a rare direct pipeline to defense and intelligence community needs through its status as a Department of Defense University Affiliated Research Center. USU’s Innovation Campus in North Logan co-locates private startups and laboratories alongside academic facilities, enabling commercial applications to emerge directly from campus research. A statewide extension network with offices across all of Utah’s 29 counties and more than 50 research centers connects faculty expertise to local industry and community partners. Research funding flows from agencies including NASA, NSF, DOE, DOD, and USDA.
