About
HERlab is a UK deep biotech developing non-conventional yeast platforms for the manufacture of complex proteins and biologics (as well as small molecules and glycans). Our approach centres on navigating yeast biodiversity to identify fit-for-purpose production hosts — intelligently matching biological complexity to the right chassis from the get-go. This enables both improved manufacturing economics and access to novel product profiles, including products with precise immunomodulatory properties not achievable through conventional routes. Our applications span animal health biologics and feed, functional food ingredients, and biocatalytic enzymes for green chemistry, among others. We partner with industry on co-development programmes, sponsored research, and early pilot engagements.
