I am interested in lipid biotechnology in higher plants, yeast and microalgae, and canola research. Our lab aims to (1) enhance our understanding of plant lipid formation, (2) increase oil yield, and produce unusual fatty acids in certain plant, yeast, and microalgal species, and (3) develop canola with improved agronomic characteristics, including abiotic and biotic stress tolerance, seed yield, and seed quality.
