Isolation and structural elucidation of anti-allergic compounds from Carissa spinarum, Toddalia asitica and Physalis minima towards standardization of herbs. By Moses A. G. Maobe, Samson Maobe and Martha K. Nyang’au
About
Proposal is based on M.Sc, PhD data (by Moses A. G. Maobe). Fractions isolated from three herbs show compounds with established anti-allergic activity. The fractions are preserved for standardization in 3 activities. Part I: these compounds require further isolation, purification, structural elucidation and anti-allergic evaluation. This require HPLC-MS and NMR-MS or NMR, respectively. Part II: Other ant-allergy herbs demonstrated in attachments will undergo standardization later. Part III: Cultivation of herbs growing in the wild will be promoted for sustainable supply of raw materials.
